As one of the unlucky few who had the highly stressful task of taking the October A level series with just under 2 months for 3 science subjects, Hannah was the perfect guide and teacher. Anyone who knows the course will understand the pressure of having to go through such an immense amount of content, let alone understanding it all. Hannah provided concise, exam-tailored notes and the lessons struck the perfect balance between reviewing content and fitting in a substantial number of exam questions with time to review. I can thoroughly recommend Hannah as a tutor for both Biology and Geography. My daughter has dyslexia and Hannah has supported and encouraged her throughout her A levels . She is very organised and its great to have some feedback on each lesson. I was very confident in her ability to cover the syllabus and she was a great help with the NEA. Phoebe improved greatly in writing essays in the correct time which was where her problem lay.
Hannah was also available out of lesson time to help with queries or to proof read essays. She never charged me for this time.
I would definitely give her 5 stars.

Hannah is extremely professional; it is immediately apparent as to the difference between someone who tutors for a living and someone who, whilst knowledgeable, tutors as a sideline. She demonstrated a quick and intuitive grasp of how to tutor my son, and he immediately felt at ease with her approach. She has extensive knowledge of what examiners are looking for and how students can show what they know to the best effect. Hannah has been an exceptional tutor and helped me gain an A in A level geography when I was predicted a B. Her notes are extremely thorough yet very easy to learn from. Hannah, at Tuition Matters, was recommended to us and the tuition has been excellent. The convenience of the online tutoring has allowed Lois to have regular sessions of Biology without having to travel to get there. The sessions have given Lois not only confidence in the subject knowledge but also how to apply her knowledge to exam questions. Biology needs such a great depth of knowledge and Hannah has definitely improved Lois' performance over the year. Megan has worked with Hannah throughout year 13 and my only regret is that we did not find her for year 12. I know that Megan is going into her exams with optimum preparation. Not only has Hannah ensured that Megan has the necessary knowledge firmly embedded she has also given Megan the skills to maximise her marks with her exam technique. Throughout the year Hannah has kept me informed on a weekly basis of the work covered and areas for Megan to work on. Megan has also struggled with exam nerves and Hannah has really helped Megan to work at controlling these. My daughter is dyslexic so the way in which Hannah breaks down the facts has been really useful, especially with essay planning and supporting her through constructing essays with enough detail. I can't rate Hannah highly enough. She is an excellent tutor and helped my daughter with her Geography AS level so much. She developed her confidence and belief in herself when it was at rock bottom. Her notes were clear and effective and her teaching style was tailored to my daughter's needs. Hannah was particularly effective in going through past exam questions and exam technique explaining the level of detail required to secure the marks. Alice has only been with Hannah for a month but we have already seeing significant benefits from their weekly sessions. Hannah is a fantastic tutor: she has a thorough understanding of her subject area and the various Biology syllabuses; she is well organised with a wide range of valuable resources which she uses to good effect to stretch Alice, but also to consolidate her learning on areas where she is not so confident. She spent valuable time at the beginning of the relationship understanding Alice's objectives for A2 Biology and assessing her ability against these.

Hannah is amazing, patient and really knows her stuff! Her teaching method breaks down huge (and scary) topics into manageable topics, and her notes (which she has created herself) are concise and easy to use. She adapts her teaching methods and materials to the learner and topic, I am visual and remember things in a very random way, so Hannah helped come up with ways for ME to remember things! With a big emphasis on past papers I have been able to go into my exams confidant on not only the subject, but also what the question is asking. Hannah is also very efficient and generous in the support she offers via email to any questions that arise and has helped me to organise my time as well as teaching me/helping me revise topics.
I cannot imagine trying to sit my exams without Hannah's help, and I simply cannot recommend her highly enough.

Hannah has been tutoring our daughter in Geography and Biology for the past six weeks. Following a disappointing set of results at AS we decided some one on one help was required to cope with A2 and As resits. Huge scepticism from daughter about on-line tutoring resulted in a trial session. A resounding success in one hour! We now have weekly sessions in both subjects. Hannah is an outstanding tutor adapting to her pupils and providing her own superbly crafted notes that really help students focus on the details required to address an exam. Each session is complimented by working on exam questions to iron out any weaknesses in interpreting questions and explanation of the marks to ensure maximum points are achieved. The transformation in confidence in our daughter is marked and having been achieving only D grades, a recent whole term test placed her top of her class with a confident high A grade! Need I say more.

I found working with Hannah extremely helpful and enjoyable. She helped me gain confidence in understanding and answering questions for A Level Biology. We mainly focused on exam technique but where I was unsure of something in the specification she broke it down into simple parts and explained it thoroughly. Going through different past paper questions from various exam boards gave me great practice. Hannah is an encouraging and enthusiastic tutor. Our son was in the unusual position, that his school were unable to fit his Geography A level subject into the time-table. As this is such a large commitment we were not sure whether an on-line tutor, without any personal contact would be ideal. However, we are extremely happy with his progress and he is quite happy communicating with Hannah through Skype video. They are able to send paperwork to each other, via Skype and e-mails. Hannah is happy to answer any questions and is always very prompt with replies. When the subject requirements of my university course changed, I was forced to stay an extra year at sixth form to complete the A-Level only 4 months before my exams I decided I desperately needed help but was cynical about using Skype. However, when taking my first lesson with Hannah, she put me at ease straight away, talking me through the course and which sections I thought I was weak on. Straight away I knew this was the right choice. Hannah sent me up to date notes, questions and talked me through different chapters with feedback on all of my answers. She would explain concepts to me in depth so I fully understood each topic before moving onto the next one. Hannah structured the lessons into how to write down key terms to help me write more specific answers as I felt they were my problem. I’ve turned from being frustrated at taking the Biology course to actually enjoying Biology and looking forward to lessons with Hannah. I would recommend her to anyone as she is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, punctual and professional. I feel confident with the Biology exams I have taken, but regardless of my results in August, I know I have tried my hardest with the best possible support from Hannah.

5th July, 2012Thus overall the experience was first class!
Hannah started helping our daughter Abigail about 3 months before the AS exams Geography in June and although she will only hear the results in August, we already know it has made an enormous difference in exam confidence! Because we left it rather late we had problems finding experienced tutors near home and opted to try an online tutor. Abigail was at first a bit nervous about the concept of online tuition, but this was quickly dispelled following the first 10 min with Hannah online who has excellent communications skills and eases her students into online communication as if they are sitting in the same room. We attached an external computer screen to Abi’s laptop so that she could use her laptop to write answers and for online searches during the lectures while using the 2nd screen for Skype (but it would work equally well with a single screen). Hannah is clearly a very experienced teacher and has made online teaching very effective with constant exchange of documents and text via Skype during the lecture using the ‘chat mode’ while the camera ensured both parties could see each other. We found it made very little difference with having a life tutor visiting the home.
Hannah is very organised, lectures started always on time , and weekly feedback by e-mail for the parents helped us keep track of the progress. The online sessions were fun, energetic and very efficient. They were exam practise focussed, which is just what Abigail needed. She coached Abi over this period to learn what questions to expect, what kind of details examiners would be looking for to achieve good grades, and also, importantly, to build up a sense of timing to ensure students are able to complete the exam within the allocated time. We now have a daughter who enjoys Geography and is looking forward to her next year.
Thus overall the experience was first class! Be sure to book early, because she appears very popular and gets fully booked quickly.

After a terrible AS result my daughter's confidence in her ability to continue with Biology was very low indeed and her chances of achieving the necessary A level grade seemed remote. However in Hannah's capable hands my daughter regained confidence, her grade at the January retake improved by three levels and we are confident that she will be happy on results day. Working via Skype proved a great way to ensure that lessons could continue from anywhere, and as a parent I have been very grateful for the weekly feedback.

We are just embarking with online tuition with Hannah , and so far all is brilliant . we were unsure at first about how online tuition would be but it seems to fit really well it means you have to remain focussed and it can be flexible to meet your needs (there is also not the 'teacher/ pupil' feeling you get when having teachers visit your home) . Although early days we have been really impressed with how quickly Hannah has understood our sons learning needs and learning style and he is already feeling a great surge of confidence - lets hope we go from strength to strength.

Our son has just completed his A 2's and has been assisted since retaking some of his As papers .Hannah has worked with him in Geography and Human Biology and the help and support has been brilliant. He saw a move from grade U to C in AS Human Biology and D- a high grade B in Geography AS. Hannah has been really supportive and has really helped fine tune Will's learning. He has really enjoyed the lessons and his confidence and understanding has really shown at college. He has entered his A levels without a feeling of anxiety as he has felt on top of the subjects rather than trying to cram it all in at the end. I would recommend this method of teaching to anyone - its focussed, well organised and Hannah has a good understanding of the course content and exam structure and has a sensitive and supportive teaching style - I would suggest that for resits you obtain copies of your exam papers and share them with tutors to help them understand where the focus of teaching is needed. we have not had the results for A levels yet but for us the positive learning experience that Will has had merits comment ( whatever the results- which hopefully will be positive) .

Although I have only had a few weeks under the tuition of Hannah, I feel much more confident in Biology already. She breaks everything down in to small, simple and manageable chunks to enable you to learn in a more effective way. Hannah has been tutoring Ryan online for 6 weeks and it works soooo well. They go through questions together using Skype where he answers in real time and they can go over the answer together. Sam has been having tuition with Hannah for about 18 months moving from AS to A level Biology. I wasn't entirely sure how online tutoring would work out, but as Sam seemed to click with Hannah and be making good progress with her decided to give it ago - what a good decision!! Sam actually said it was easier to focus being online and seemed to get through a great deal during the hour.
After every lesson Hannah sends emails saying what work has been covered and how Sam has done, what areas he needs to concentrate on etc… I would totally recommend Hannah for AS and A level Biology tutoring.

Initially I was slightly hesitant about online tutoring because I felt face-to-face contact time was needed but I soon came to realise from the comments from my daughter, that even though my daughter and Hannah weren't actually in the same room together, the quality of Hannah's tutoring was excellent and the online bit made no difference. Using Skype worked very well and Hannah could see what my daughter was writing as she held it up to the camera.
Hannah explained topics in a clear way and answered my daughter's questions so that she could understand. Hannah really boosted my daughter's confidence and helped her learn how to answer A-level questions. Hannah was always on time for the session and gave me excellent feedback on the work that had been covered.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Hannah as a tutor.

I'm a final year Biology & Psychology university student, and it is challenging to balance the two subjects. With two dissertations of different style and structure to write, and the rest of my workload, it seemed extremely daunting at first. However Hannah was excellent in breaking everything down for me, understanding what I required and giving me straight forward guidance.
I initially contacted Hannah regarding my Biology dissertation as this was her area of expertise, but later I also required some guidance on my Psychology dissertation. By which point I was extremely pleased with Hannah's tutoring and was confident that she would be able to tutor me for my psychology dissertation too, so I arranged for some more sessions.
Hannah helped me create a very clear structure and essay plans for every step of the way for my dissertations. I gained a comprehensive yet simplified perspective of what I was required to do, how to go about doing this and a lot of supportive material. As well as the confidence to tackle this intimidating work. Hannah also aided me with time management, which is essential for university deadlines, and support outside the tutoring sessions, with any questions I had and editing drafts of my work.
With the lack of support and guidance from my university, I wouldn't have been able to get my dissertations to the high standard I wanted without Hannah's help.
